Autumn and Iceland-Aerial Videos that Inspire Camping

Camping has always been this place where you can go to unwind

What if you used that camping time to pursue your art passion as well?  Here are some aerial videos, from the amazing autumn scenes of Colorado to the majestic waterfalls of Iceland, that inspire camping.    While I aspire to capture customized camping videos that have this kind of amazing nature scenery, I’m thankful to have met fellow filmmaker, David Leiter,  who is equal parts outdoor enthusiast and drone filmmaker.  He works a “normal job” but he makes time to go explore the world by camping and filming aerial videos with his drone.  He’s traveled to several countries and gone camping in many different places.  Check out two of my favorite videos that he has produced.

Marshmallow Toasted S’more All in One

Campfire inventions

I was thinking about how to toast a marshmallow and a complete s’more all on one stick. I was trying to figure out a way to make the chocolate softer, other than just waiting for the marshmallow itself to heat up the chocolate, and how to get the graham crackers warm too.

Camping in Idaho

This summer the lake at Dworshak stayed full most of June, it’s the best time to go camping.  There are campsites right along the water. Here is a quick reel from some of the drone video footage we took on a recent camping adventure. We had such fun times cooking around the campfire, roasting s’mores, and cooking hot dogs for dinner on the Rolla Roaster. We’re truly blessed to live in such an amazing place!

Tips to Have the Ultimate Summer Road Trip

Summer is here and that means summer vacation! If you’ve never had the opportunity to take a road trip with friends, I high recommend it!

There are many different ways to go a road trip.  Some like to take the movie-esque approach and throw a dart at a map and drive; Some like to have a general idea of where they are going and just stop at the “cool” sites along the way, but I like to plan.  I am generally not a planner at all, but when it comes to vacations, I want to see as much as possible in the time allotted, and planning really helps with that.

S’mores Fanatics

Here at Rolla Roaster, we are marshmallow enthusiasts. No, fanatics. We just really, really, really dig marshmallows. And what’s not to dig? They’re sweet, melty, gooey, and pair perfectly with chocolate. And when you smoosh it all between a graham cracker? It’s gooey, chocolatey, and crunchy. You can’t get much better than that.
